City “Still Reviewing” My Request For Biz Park Impact Study

I made an Open Records Request for a copy of the impact study that the City paid for as part of their Business Pork vetting process. The idea is that this study will “prove” mathematically ALL the many, many benefits that this secret prospect will bring. That in turn will allow the LEDC to hand them a big chunk of money or free stuff and tell us how we are all coming out ahead on the deal.

It only seems fair to me that we taxpaying peons be allowed to see the claims of benefits being made by the LEDC if they are going through with the handouts.

Keep in mind, the LEDC is desperate to get a deal done and get someone, ANYONE, in there to justify the last 20 years and over $7 million tax dollars being wasted.

Also keep in mind their track record sucks. Besides being conned by Mike Cour the first time around, they ALSO handed $20,000 to Heritage Funeral Home back in 2021 [see page 5].

That would be the same Heritage Funeral Home that (1) was to be a direct competitor with an established funeral home in town who DIDN’T get $20,000 handed to them by the City and (2) is owned by a guy who hobnobs with Hollywood douchebags and drives around in a Bentley. In other words, a guy who sure as shit doesn’t need $20,000 in taxpayer funds.

First of all, Chipotle’s CEO Brian Niccol did not get paid $38 million.

Niccol’s base salary of $1.25 million has not changed since 2020.

Many of these CEO’s get a salary of a million or two but then get stock-based bonuses if they perform well. When they perform well, it enriches ALL shareholders. Maybe if you ever got a job and invested, you’d appreciate that aspect.

According to proxy filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday, Niccol earned a total of $17.2 million last year. That’s down from the $17.9 million in total compensation earned in 2021.

His Starbucks information is wrong as well:

Laxman Narasimhan started his tenure as CEO of Starbucks on Monday, nearly two weeks earlier than planned. He’s set to take home a hefty paycheck from his role. According to Securities and Exchange Commission filings from September, Narasimhan will start with a base salary of $1.3 million per year

I’m guessing Comrade Clayton doesn’t understand the difference between SALARY and other forms of compensation. This is where his IGNORANCE shows, once again.

Also telling is the fact that he doesn’t mention Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple. Tim Cook took home $98.7 million in 2021 and $99.4 million in 2022 – FAR more than anyone on your list. Why isn’t Tim on your list?

It’s really none of your business at all what anyone at that company makes.

LEDC Requested Impact Study For Secret Biz Pork Prospect. Study Is Completed. Will They Allow Taxpayer Peons To See Results?

April Sales Tax Receipts: Lampasas BEATS State of Texas!

I don’t know, but for the first time in a LONG time, the Lampasas sales tax receipts increase was HIGHER than Texas as a whole:

Truly amazing. This translates into approximately $20,000 more revenue for the City compared to last April ($280k vs $260k). This is a good thing because Finley is going to need to find about $75,000 to pay the lifeguards a market wage this year.

We have had several businesses go under compared to last year, but that has had no effect. Will this be the last month of good news before it all blows up?
