I may soon have to retire the “goldfish” moniker since there are fewer and fewer dummies on City council compared to when I started this site almost 5 years ago. We now have non-goldfish like Pearce, Morris and Keele up there on the dais.

Hopefully after the elections next month, we will be rid of not only Monroe, but Kuehne as well. I’m seeing a LOT of Herb Pearce signs around town. Unfortunately, he has to deal with the Teachers Mafia – hundreds of teachers who will blindly vote for Kuehne just because SHE and her husband are also teachers. Gonna be tough to overcome that. But overcome that we must, if we are to avoid having our fourth substandard mayor in a row.

Irving City Council Gives $75,000 Economic Incentive To Kelly -Moore Paint Co.

Here is a recent example of a city handing out free money to a company in exchange for “creating jobs” in that city. I am bringing this up because it is very clear that our own LEDC and City council is now in the midst of “secret negotiations” to “evaluate financial information from a business.”

The bottom line for the Irving deal with Kelly-Moore paint is they get $75,000 in “incentives” in exchange for promising to create 30 jobs with a $100,000 salary. In other words – $3 million of salaries for a $75,000 donation.

As much as I detest governments handing out “incentives,” you have to admire the ratio: 40-1 in favor of the citizen ($3 million divided by $75,000).

I am posting this now so that we can later compare any “deals” that the geniuses like Misti Talbert and TJ Monroe make with any Business Pork prospects. I GUARANTEE you they will be far shittier than this. Remember: the LEDC has ALREADY spent over SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS on that goat pasture. They better bring in some hella good jobs to justify that waste.

Something tells me it will be more like 10 jobs at $42,000 per year and a ridiculous promise for hundreds more “in the future”.

Even CNN Admits “The Rich” Are Paying Far More Than Their “Fair Share”.

Wow. Even CNN can’t ignore the math anymore. Too bad socialist morons like Bruce Haywood and Comrade Clayton Tucker SDEC-24 TX are incapable of 3rd grade math. The mathematical facts are that “the rich” pay FAR MORE than their fair share. The problem isn’t “the rich being greedy”. The problem is the laughable expansion of the welfare state and the tens of millions of parasites sucking the rest of us dry. From the CNN article:

While “fair” is subjective, most Americans might not understand how much of the tax burden the rich actually bear. The answer may surprise them.

According to the IRS, in 2020, the top 1% of taxpayers (about 1.5 million taxpayers), paid $722 billion in income taxes. That amount accounted for 42.3% of all income taxes paid, the highest percentage in modern history.

By contrast, the bottom 90% of taxpayers (about 142 million taxpayers) paid a combined $450 billion in income taxes, or just 26.3% of the total, their lowest percentage of the tax burden in decades. That means the top 1% of taxpayers pay a far greater share of the nation’s tax burden than 142 million of their neighbors combined.

Surely, the rich pay a larger amount because they earn the most money, right? Not exactly. In 2020, the top 1% of taxpayers earned 22% of all adjusted gross income; their 42.3% share of the income taxes is nearly twice their share of the nation’s income.

The opposite is true for the bottom 90%. They earned more than half, 50.5%, of the nation’s income but paid 26.3% of the taxes — roughly half of their share of the nation’s income.

This hasn’t always been the case. In 1980, the tax burden was much more evenly shared. The bottom 90% earned 68% of the nation’s income and paid 52% of the income taxes. The top 1% earned 9.6% of the nation’s income and paid 17% of the income taxes.

What led to our tax system becoming more progressive today than it has been since at least World War II?

One reason is the massive expansion of social programs delivered through the tax code over the past three decades. Some of the largest programs aimed at lower-income families and those with children are run through the IRS — the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit. Collectively, they deliver roughly $180 billion worth of benefits each year, much of which is refundable — meaning a family gets a tax refund check even if they don’t owe any taxes.

City Employee Health Insurance “Cost Of Claims” Skyrockets 63.9% In Two Years. Now at $12,000 Per Employee!

Wow. Hmmm….weird. That is just about the period of time when the “vaccines” were introduced. I wonder what percentage of City employees took that jab…and if the exploding claims are related somehow.

Those would be the generous benefits City employees get but which Finley and Ryan never mention every year when they are up there begging for salary increases.

How big are those health insurance benefits?

Last year, it cost the City $11,640 per employee [page 78]. So when you feel bad for Ryan Ward because he is only making about $113,000 per year, remember to add $11,640 on to that number (and of course, another $14,000 the City hands him for retirement thanks to a 2-1 matching scheme).

But what has REALLY blown up is the “Total Cost of Claims” – the amount that City employees have cost Baylor Scott and White (their insurer).

In the March 2020 through Feb 2021 period, the cost of claims was $833,000 for 113 employees. Or about $7,380 per year per employee. Fun fact: this was right smack in the middle of the “deadly pandemic” where everyone was supposedly overflowing the hospitals and dying like flies.

The next year (3/21 through 2/22), the cost of claims popped almost 30% up to $1.07 MILLION for 112 employees –or $9,600 per year each! Fun fact: the jab was introduced in Jan of 2021.

This last period (3/22 through 2/23), the cost of claims popped ANOTHER 27% and reached an eye-watering $1.365 MILLION for 114 employees – or about TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS EACH!

Yes, that is correct. The cost of claims averages out to $12,000 for every single one of the 114 employees the City has.

Do these employees have any kind of deductible? Out here in the real world, I have to pay over $950 a month and I have a massive $5,000 deductible. Basically, I’m out about $17,000 before my insurance even starts to kick in for me. Which is a huge kick in the nuts every May.

So either City employees have no deductible at all (MORE huge benefits) OR every single employee is averaging even HIGHER than $12,000 in expenditures per year (the $12,000 PLUS whatever comes out of their pockets in deductibles).

How is that even possible? I’m on old fart with all kinds of body parts failing and I don’t think I claimed anywhere NEAR that amount from my insurance.

Rest assured, the City will be paying MUCH higher insurance rates for their employees next period. Of course, that will all be forgotten in July when Finley and Ryan stand before council and ask for another 6% raise for every swinging dick that works for the City because “salaries are low compared to Fredericksburg”.

City and LEDC Refuse To Divulge Current Business Pork ‘Prospect’…AGAIN.

I tells ya – it’s like déjà vu all over again!

I have noticed over the last couple months there is a “business park prospect” mentioned in the agendas and packets. Lots of “executive sessions” to discuss “incentives” (free money) for this mystery prospect.

I asked for just the NAME of this prospect. Not financials. Not proprietary information. Not terms of any deals. Not trade secrets. Absolutely NOTHING but the name.

Guess what?

“Yes I did receive your request, unfortunately it is not that simple. I have reached out to the City Attorney on whether or not the name of the prospect can be released at this time. I will be in touch.”

This is ridiculous on many levels. One level of ridiculousness is that the LEDC used to LOUDLY trumpet and blather about their prospects. Even the WHISPER of a possible prospect was splashed loudly in the minutes, in the newspaper and everywhere else.

A “prospect out of Abilene” interested in relocating their business to Lampasas but they “can’t give out details yet” (2018).

But NOW, they can’t even give me a name!

I’m guessing that it ISN’T one of the prospects they coughed up over a year ago, or they wouldn’t be making a big secret of it. After all, they already TOLD me last February.

Those prospects were: Lawson Implements, PhoLicious (now gone to Houston), Legacy Awning and Shade, Nextlink Internet (already has killer location on 580 E) and Eco-Flex Recycled Rubber (who ALREADY screwed over the City once with their lies a couple years ago).

The LEDC also doesn’t seem to have a problem blabbing about other businesses about to enter the City right now – like HTeaO (old Chinese Buffet building) or Anytime Fitness (4th Street).

I’m going to go ahead and predict that my old buddy J.C. Brown denies me this information…thus keeping taxpayers in the dark YET AGAIN about the “goat pasture” they have shelled out over $7.1 million dollars for so far.

Today is Tax Day

The day when greedy unemployed bums like Clayton Tucker SDEC-24 TX shout at you to “pay your fair share” while they pay NOTHING AT ALL.

The average income tax rate in 2020 was 13.6 percent. The top 1 percent of taxpayers paid a 25.99 percent average rate, more than eight times higher than the 3.1 percent average rate paid by the bottom half of taxpayers.

The top 1 percent’s income share rose from 20.1 percent in 2019 to 22.2 percent in 2020 and its share of federal income taxes paid rose from 38.8 percent to 42.3 percent.

The top 50 percent of all taxpayers paid 97.7 percent of all federal individual income taxes, while the bottom 50 percent paid the remaining 2.3 percent.
