I happened to notice lately that rents are absolutely cratering in north Austin. Apartments that were $2,200 a month two years ago are now down to $1,300 a month. They are also VERY nice and located near all the action.
There are a TON of units and not a lot of takers. It has rarely been a better time to rent (compared to buying) than it is right now.
The same holds for Lampasas. Here are some screenshots just from today:

Those all work out to about $450 or $500 a month per bedroom. I even saw a one-bedroom for $600 per month.
SURELY a guy with “deep roots” to Lampasas can find ONE roommate to share with, no? I mean you DID brag about how long your family has lived here when you ran for City council!

Maybe Potato Head Fitzharris’s son could live with you. I think HE is also at home with mom now too! You could both sit around and talk about how awesome communism is all day long.
Anyways, the undeniable fact is that there ARE apartments available for a fairly cheap price right now. Clayton Tucker has belly-ached in the past about how expensive rent is. That excuse is now invalid.
So ONE of these two things HAS to be true:
#1 – the 35-year-old guy with an $80,000 college degree who was GIFTED a (supposedly) legit ranching operation AND who supposedly has a SECOND job with the Trade Justice Education Fund cannot even manage to scrounge up $600 per month out of his two “jobs.”
If #1 is true, you are a fuckup of biblical proportions. It means you are a shitty ‘rancher’ and have no idea what you are doing AND your second ‘job’ is not a job at all. You could EASILY find a job around here making $40,000 per year and move into your own apartment. You have no kids, no wife, no school debt – NOTHING. You have been out of college for THIRTEEN YEARS with ZERO expenses in your life and you STILL fucked it up. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for running the entire billion-dollar Texas Ag Department.
OR…
#2 – you have some weird attachment to your mommy and want to suckle at her teat every night. I can think of NO dudes who are 35-years-old and WANT to live with their parents if they didn’t absolutely have to (i.e. they are broke and CAN’T move out). I know you aren’t caring for your sick mother because I see her at the gym a few times a week. She’s in better shape than you and she’s like 70 years old.
SO – which is it, Comrade? Do you have no income or are you just a colossal parasite who has a weird mom-fetish and too scared to sleep alone every night?
Neither answer is a very good look, buddy.
