Ding Dongs Running The Pool Screw Up YET AGAIN!

What a display of incompetence, chaos and retardation! What’s that, like three times in the last 10 days or something?

Luckily, the people running the pool and the City itself have government jobs, so they can never be fired. Well, unless you pull a prank involving Goldfish crackers, apparently.

It’s true! You can allow a massive ransomware attack to cripple/destroy the City’s computers, you can shut down the pool on a whim, you can waste piles of money by paying 3x what a job is worth and none of it matters. In fact, you will very likely get an automatic 4% raise every year!

Finley just can’t seem to catch a break. His “Economic Development Director” resigns suddenly after not doing jack shit for 18 months, the City pool is closed more often than not, and his beloved Hostess House “facelift” that was supposed to cost $200,000 is going to cost over $2.2 MILLION instead.

Don’t worry, though. He gets about $4,000 in salary and benefits every single week of the year with which to console himself. He’ll be fine.

Nice Day For The Pool

Man – another hot one today! Those of us who DON’T have a nice, cushy Nerf job at City Hall are really sweating it out this weekend.

Would be an AWESOME day to hit Hanna Springs Pool and ride the slide a few times. Maybe sit under the Mushroom Fountain with the kids.

Oh wait. The pool is now closed on Sundays instead of open from 1pm to 6pm like it was for YEARS prior to this one. All thanks to Finley being too cheap to pay lifeguards more than the absolute minimum wage of $7.25

The city budget discussions are going to be popping up soon for the fiscal year 2021/2022. Can’t wait to see how big of a raise he wants to give the Nerf job holders this time around. I read they had TWENTY-FIVE applicants for “Assistant City Manager”. They have so many applicants because they offer a ridiculously generous salary and benefits.

That’s a lesson Finley never applies to the lifeguards, for some reason. God forbid you find $20,000 for the summer help in a budget of $31 million.
