Turns out you CAN’T just conjure money out of thin air. Those deposits were not covered by law. So now the FDIC has to stick it to the rest of us to make up the difference. The difference will be roughly $40 billion dollars. The Treasury has already made a loan, apparently. But that will need to be paid back – this isn’t Ukraine, after all…
Retirees living off social security and food stamps will pay for this. Teachers will pay for this. Shop owners will pay for this. Kids getting their first job will pay for this. Farmers will pay for this. All to ensure that Roku did not have any worries? Fuck Roku. Who says we need 27 streaming services to begin with? Roku is a child of 0% interest rates that would have never been born otherwise.
