City Council Chambers (Which Is Only 5 Years Old) Needs Over $20,000 In HVAC Repairs. WTF???

It was practically yesterday they dedicated the new City council chambers they blew $1.5 million on….

But apparently $1.5 million doesn’t get you quality, because according to City Manager Erin Corbel, there is an “intelligent computer brain” or some shit that needs to be replaced – which costs $6,400 all by itself. Then there is the labor.

According to her at the meeting tonight, the entire shebang will be OVER $20,000!!!

What. The. Fuck.

My house is over 13 years old out here and I’ve NEVER had an HVAC issue yet (knock on wood). The council chambers is only used a couple times a MONTH and their system already shit the bed after a measly FIVE YEARS?!?

Pretty sure I’d go back to ASJ Construction and kick some asses over this.

I was wondering why there was no “City Manager Report” written into the packet tonight. Now I know why. Anything to hide this from me! I’ll be requesting the bid sheets tomorrow morning.

Too bad they didn’t get a $17,000 “HVAC Maintenance Contract” like they did for the shitty broken elevator over there in 2020. Ouch.

What a clusterfuck. Yet another Talbert project comes back to bite the City in the ass.
