Subsidies For Renewables

When the global warming morons whimper and cry about “oil and gas subsidies!” you can show them the REAL numbers:

The solar industry would collapse tomorrow without heavy subsidization from American taxpayers, and it’s for an energy source that’s inefficient, unreliable, and causes environmental harm. We’re subsidizing the wrong industry. Nuclear energy – fission and fusion – is the way.

Is Pholicious Tap Dancing In Houston Just For Me??

Awww. This is just the cutest thing ever and a great way to start my week! Joe Trousdale, owner of Pholicious in Houston, is tap dancing for me over there in Houston and letting me know how well he is doing!

So adorable. My 8-year-old does the same thing when she comes home with a good grade on a test. Running in here waving it around and seeking a pat on the head. “Look how good I did!”

Good for you, Joe!! Kick some ass! You might just be the next Ajinomoto of Houston!

From the photo, it looks like about 11 jobs you have created for non-whites there. Very impressive. Good thing you moved because I don’t think you could find that many workers here, to be honest. I don’t know the pay or the hours or the benefits, but I’m sure they are decent. I know you were advertising $15/hr not too long ago – Finley is paying our high-school lifeguards that wage too! That seems to be the new minimum wage. Labor is very hard to find, that is for sure.

I’ll be honest though, that room doesn’t look like it’s 10,000 square feet. I think the old AmVets building here would have sufficed!

I think Joe was sore because I wrote a piece about how amusing I found it that the LEDC and Pholicious had a nice little love-affair going but it turned sour overnight. These things happen. My problem is with the very existence of the LEDC – not a Regular Joe trying to build a small business.

I’ve never met Joe but it’s hard not to root for him. The guy is building something out of nothing, he loves his guns and seems like a rock-ribbed conservative. Plus we have a lot in common: my middle name is Joe, we’re both great-looking and neither one of us is a Muslim. So he’s got to be a pretty good guy.

He is the OPPOSITE of do-nothing, asswipe socialists:

Now, all that said, I think you may have an imposter using your name on Yelp! There is ANOTHER Pholicious in Houston, apparently. And they are tarnishing your good name. I know it can’t be you, because some of the shitty reviews are from 2018. I always thought Pholicious was a clever name but maybe a lot of people are already using it? Better get on that and find a lawyer to trademark that shit, pronto!!

But seriously dude, glad you are killing it. Owning a small business is a bitch. I know. Insurance guy fucks you. Landlord fucks you. Lazy employees on their phones all day can fuck you. FedEx shipping costs only go higher. Packaging costs going up all the time fucks you. Supply chain still sucks balls for a lot of stuff. Quality control sucks these days. Input costs rising fucks you. The City raising electric rates 16% fucks you. You gotta pay EVERYONE before you make a dime. Just when you start making some dough, you will have a major piece of machinery break and cost you $10,000 out of the blue. Those first few years, you make less than your employees most of the time, if you make anything at all.

And then when you DO make it big, douchebags like Joe Biden and Clayton Tucker, who have never worked a real job in their lives, stomp around and DEMAND that you pay your “fair share” in taxes and try to put you in the poor house.

I also feel bad you have to live in Houston, which has far too many traffic jams, floods and libshits for my taste – but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Order your Pholicious on Amazon HERE.

PUBLIC SERVICE REMINDER: If you run a business, the smartest business move is firing every Democrat who works for you…and making sure you never hire one. That liberal white woman you’re about to hire, she’s actually an inoperable brain tumor. Don’t let her in.

Resumes with pronouns are automatically thrown in the garbage can around here. I don’t want the headaches

Hard Numbers Tell Us The “Great Transition” To Zero Carbon Is Impossible

MiningWatch Canada is estimating that “[Three] billion tons of mined metals and minerals will be needed to power the energy transition” – a “massive” increase especially for six critical minerals: lithium, graphite, copper, cobalt, nickel and rare earth minerals.

Over the next 30 years 7.5 billion of us, we will consume more minerals than the last 70,000 years or the past 500 generations, which is more than all of the 108 billion humans who have ever walked the Earth.

Mining requires the extraction of solid ores, often after removing vast amounts of overlying rock. Then the ore must be processed, creating an enormous quantity of waste – about 100 billion tonnes a year, more than any other human-made waste stream.

Purifying a single tonne of rare earths requires using at least 200 cubic meters of water, which then becomes polluted with acids and heavy metals. On top of that, imagine the destruction and energy required to obtain these essential metals:

18,740 pounds of purified rock to produce 2.2 pounds of vanadium

35,275 pounds of ore for 2.2 pounds of cerium

110,230 pounds of rock for 2.2 pounds of gallium

2,645,550 pounds of ore to get 2.2 pounds of lutecium

Also staggering amounts of ore are needed for other metals.

By 2035, demand is expected to double for germanium; quadruple for tantalum; and quintuple for palladium. The scandium market could increase nine-fold, and the cobalt market by a factor of 24. (Marscheider-Wiedemann 2016 ‘raw materials for emerging technologies’.

The potential demand for rare metals is exponential. We are already consuming over two billion tonnes of metals every year — the equivalent of more than 500 Eiffel Towers a day.

There is nothing refined about mining. It involves crushing rock, and then using a concoction of chemical reagents such as sulphuric and nitric acid, a long and highly repetitive process using many different procedures to obtain a rare-earth concentrate close to 100% purity.

As rare metals have become ubiquitous in green and digital technologies, the exceedingly toxic sludge they produce has been contaminating water, soil, the atmosphere, and the flames of blast furnaces.

Do you think solar panels are “Green” Think again. There is nothing green about solar panels. Did you know we clear cut forests, not for panel placement but for the wood needed to produce the panels. Don’t believe me, have a read.

https://hiddenhistorycenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/BurningCoalTreesToMakeSolarPanels.pdf

We have seen the destruction of mountains, lakes and pristine waterways all in the name of #GreenEnergy. A recent report by the Blacksmith Institute identifies the mining industry as the second-most-polluting industry in the world. Soon to be Number # 1 Why? Green energy.

Green’ technologies require the use of rare minerals whose mining is anything but clean. Heavy metal discharges, acid rain, and contaminated water sources — it borders on being an environmental disaster. Put simply, clean energy is a dirty affair.

Wind turbines guzzle more raw materials than previous technologies: ‘For an equivalent installed capacity, solar and wind facilities require up to 15 times more concrete, 90 times more aluminum, and 50 times more iron, copper, and glass than fossil fuels or nuclear energy.

Think of China. One-fifth of China’s arable land is polluted from mining and industry. Mining the materials needed for renewable energy potentially affects 50 million square kilometers, 37% of Earth’s land (minus Antarctica).

Now imagine that number 10 fold.

If you’ve gotten this far still believing that renewables are clean and green, well, I have a bridge to sell you. We thought we could free ourselves from the shortages, tensions, and crises created by our appetite for oil and coal.

Instead, we are replacing these with an era of new and unprecedented shortages, tensions, and crises.

Look Forward to More Grid Failures

On Saturday, the world was treated to a most incredible article in The New York Times. Ominously titled “Backup Power: A Growing Need, if You Can Afford It,” the piece tells a somber tale of those struggling with power outages, a phenomenon on the rise across the US. It goes on to describe how the affluent have taken rational but costly steps to insulate themselves from our newly unreliable power providers, remedies far out of reach for those struggling to make ends meet. Although the people profiled in the piece are undoubtedly legitimate victims of the current state of the US energy grid, the authors’ worldview as to how we got here is, well, a tad gaslight-y. See if you can spot the logical sleight-of-hand:

As climate change increases the severity of heat waves, cold spells and other extreme weather, blackouts are becoming more common. In the 11 years to 2021, there were 986 weather-related power outages in the United States, nearly twice as many as in the previous 11 years, according to government data analyzed by Climate Central, a nonprofit group of scientists. The average U.S. electric utility customer lost power for nearly eight hours in 2021, according to the Energy Information Administration, more than twice as long as in 2013, the earliest year for which that data is available.

According to the authors, the grid is an amorphous “thing” that was working just fine until the weather changed. Absent from the analysis is any consideration of how recent changes to the grid—the introduction of intermittent sources of energy, like wind and solar, and overloading it with new demand from the green electrification agenda—may be playing an originating role in these early signs of crisis. The one thing the Times does get right here is that the worst is yet to come (emphasis added throughout):

Energy experts warn that power outages will become more common because of extreme weather linked to climate change. And those blackouts will hurt more people as Americans buy electric heat pumps and battery-powered cars to replace furnaces and vehicles that burn fossil fuels — a shift essential to limiting climate change.

‘The grids will be more vulnerable,’ said Najmedin Meshkati, an engineering professor at the University of Southern California and an expert in disaster response. ‘That furthers the divide between the haves and the have-nots.

To aspiring central planners and their enablers in the media, empirical evidence that their policies are backfiring is merely proof of the need to double down. From this, a horde of otherwise intelligent people earnestly believes that proactively destabilizing the grid is not the cause of grid instability.

Nowhere is this more pointed than in Germany, a country several years ahead of the US in its journey toward national energy suicide. Having invested untold billions in solar and wind energy, the country is now aggressively electrifying its transportation and residential heating sectors. Despite the resulting obvious need for more electricity, German Greens celebrated the closure of the country’s last three nuclear power plants in April, bringing to an end a decades-long obsession with severing their toes in the name of saving their feet:

Anti-nuclear campaigners in Germany celebrated in Munich on Saturday as the country began winding down its three remaining nuclear power plants as part of a long-planned transition toward renewable energy….

Munich’s mayor, Dieter Reite, supported the delay but admitted on Saturday that he was pleased with this weekend’s shutdown.

The future isn’t named nuclear power. The future is named renewable energies. That will be our future. Since 2008, we in Munich have actually only focused on the expansion of renewable energies,’ he said.”

German version of Clayton Tucker and Bruce Haywood.

Given Germany’s multi-year lead in the race to the energy bottom, how events unfold as the implementation of Energiewende enters its final stages will be an instructive case study in the disastrous consequences of pursuing green utopian fantasies. What would Germany look like with full implementation of electric vehicle and heat pump mandates? How much electricity would be needed and where will it come from? What will be the impact on the German industrial base?

Will we learn anything from watching the krauts shoot their own dicks off?

Doubtful, since we now have Gen Z voting for these idiotic policies and convinced the world will end in 8 years if they don’t.

Electric Rates Going Up 16%. Thank a Libtard For That.

The residential price per kwh will be going $.007 – from .0403 to .047

I don’t live in the City, but that sure seems like a typo. Less than a nickel per kwh?? I pay more than that out here in the sticks. Still a big percentage increase, however…

You can thank all the Biden voters and global warming morons for this one. Their insistence on pushing unreliable wind and solar (and cancelling pipelines and drilling) is increasing the cost of a stable grid. In case you forgot who those people are, here is a partial list of Biden voters and global warming morons:

Clayton Tucker, Terry Tucker, Bruce Haywood, Julie Cain Landrum, Andrew Landrum, Potato Head Stephanie Fitzharris, Janet “Crazier” Crozier, Christine Seefeldt, Grady Lucas

The poor decisions, ignorance and general retardation of the above people are DIRECTLY taking money from your wallet.

Trash rates going up 6.41%, even though the price of diesel has cratered approximately 35% over the last year or so. It’s a shame that former-mayor Talbert and City manager deGraffenreid were too lazy to put that garbage contract out for bid the last time it was up in 2020.

Here we are TWO YEARS out from Talbert leaving and her bad decisions still impacting our citizens. So sad.

Water? Going up again for the second time in the same fiscal year. When you are subsidizing developers to build houses here, you get much more demand for a scarce resource like water. Pretty simple supply and demand right there.

LEDC Biz Pork Properties Now Listed Live On LoopNet.com

I guess those “many weekly calls from the governor with RFIs” aren’t cutting it. The LEDC has elected to list four lots from the 151-acre Business Pork on LoopNet:

US Hwy 183 – Lampasas Business Park

These four lots are actually listed for sale. Over the last 20 years, the LEDC has gone back and forth a few times about whether they would be renting these out or selling them.

At one point, Kathy Masonheimer projected the annual revenue from the Business Pork at $250,000 per year. From September 2014:

The LEDC’s new debt service payment will be about $150,000 a year, Mrs. Masonheimer said. The economic development corporation projects annual revenue of about $250,000, which will leave approximately $100,000 for operating costs after making loan payments.”

Actual annual revenue 9 years later? Zero dollars.

The sum of the asking prices is over $15 million dollars – roughly twice what they have spent on purchasing and improving the land.

LOT #1 is $174,000 per acre

LOT #3 is $130,000 per acre

Lot #4 is $87,000 per acre

Lot #5 is $174,000 per acre

These prices seem completely insane to me, but what do I know. Maybe they are pricing it ridiculously high so they can cut the price in half later and look like they are giving a deal to someone.

It is also weird that one of the prospective tenants (or purchasers) might be Mike Cour’s Eco-Turd. It’s weird because Mike Cour owns about 200 acres a stone’s throw down the street from the biz pork which he tried (and failed) to unload at about $30,000 per acre a year or so ago.

So if he can’t sell his own property on 183 at $30,000 per acre [currently estimated at $25,000 per acre], why would his Eco-turd pay over $100,000 per acre a mile down the road? Makes zero sense to me.

There is also property right next door listed at about $50,000 per acre – which is odd, because LEDC president Talbert told us there was “no other commercial real estate in the area…our business park is it.”

Throw in the fact that the CRE market is shitting the bed right now, and the next 6-12 months should be very interesting.

How Will I Ever Sleep Tonight?

Christine Seefeldt, a rabid liberal from Killeen who loves to shit on America, compare us unfavorably to her native Germany, crap on capitalism, and blabber about gun bans is apparently over in her beloved Germany right now….

Oh no! Some shitty airport in Berlin (which was such a disaster it cost almost TWICE what was originally budgeted) doesn’t have a picture of Trump in it?? The horror!

Perhaps that’s because Trump made the Germans look like absolute morons by predicting correctly that they were screwing themselves by relying so heavily on Russia for energy. Trump also demanded that the krauts pony up their required donation to NATO – which they have not done for a very long time, and thus have been mooching off the U.S. for defense.

You know how many pictures of Angela Merkel and Helmut Kohl I have seen in the dozens of U.S. airports I have been in over the last 40 years? Zero. Because we don’t give two shits over here about what Germany is doing. They are a fly speck. They are a country of clowns who have bought into the Greentard movement so badly they have shut down all of their nuclear reactors.

Germany also shot themselves in the dick by letting a pile of third-world scum into their country – which they are now regretting badly.

Frau Seefeldt should just stay over there permanently and do us all a favor here.

City Bending Over Backwards To NOT Admit Skate Rats Maybe Trashed Campbell Park Bathroom

The contortions these City bureaucrats will put themselves through to avoid admitting the obvious. Reminds me of the libtards trying to foist Brandon’s inflation on “greedy corporations” or “Putin’s price hikes” – just absurd.

Finley made SURE to throw in there that this “happens frequently” and it takes place at “MANY City facilities”.

Uh. huh.

If that is true, then this is basically an admission that you have done absolutely nothing as vandalism runs rampant in the City. After the first couple of times, you think you might have some cameras hidden around the joint. Hell, I have my entire compound covered in cameras for only a few hundred bucks. So it can’t be about cost. If it’s not about cost, then it must therefore be about retardation on the part of Ward or deGraffenreid. Either that, or the “frequently” and “many facilities” is all bullshit to avoid admitting the skate park might just bring in some bad eggs.

I’ll go with #2.

In fact, I SPECIFICALLY asked the City about the details of this incident, and was told “the incident is still under investigation, which is why no details have been released.

Uh huh.

Weird, because LOTS of information has been released in the past about other vandalism (Christmas on the Creek, batting cage nets, etc). Releasing some information might even help catch the little fuckers, wouldn’t you think?

As luck has it, I actually was at that very bathroom about two weeks ago as I had to take a massive shit and was in the area. The men’s room was locked, but the ladies room wasn’t. This tells me the men’s room was vandalized at that time. It also tells me that maybe it wasn’t just some graffiti on the walls. Because if it WAS, then the bathroom could still be used. Perhaps it was more severe – like sinks or toilets being broken.

Either way, I don’t remember that Campbell Park bathroom EVER being vandalized since it was put in at a cost of $170,000 almost FOUR YEARS ago – although it WAS broken for a month after the Ice Storm of February 2021.

So to recap:

Campbell Park bathroom sits unmolested for over three years.

Skate Park is opened.

Bathroom closed within the next 6 weeks for vandalism.

You know what might help when they catch him? Plaster his face on the front page of the newspaper, even if he is 12 years old. Make parents pay for double the amount of actual damages done, which might act as a deterrent.

Fred G Sanford Would Be Proud

Somebody is getting a deal! Just $100 a month to throw as much shit as you want into “Phase I” of the Industrial Park. Just no boats or RVs allowed! Or food trucks, for that matter.

So “storage for 50 boats and RVs” is now “Sanford and Son open for business!”

So much for that $7,000 agreement ya’ll had drawn up! LOL. I think Martin is playing a game now to see how much shit he can put in there that ISN’T an RV or a boat….just to kick sand in Finley’s face. We are up to: deer feeder, shipping container, two shitty little trailers and an ATV of some sort.

Only 41 more days until “Phase II” commences! Tick tock. Tick tock.

Socialist Farmer and Environmentalist Buys Froot-Loops In Plastic Bags For The Poors.

The elaborate performance piece continues! He is DEFINITELY a retard pretending to be a rancher pretending to be a farmer…or something.

Local socialist and Chairman of the Lampasas Democrats (Clayton Tucker SDEC-24 TX) always makes sure to let everyone know he is a Good Guy. Whether it is photos of him in a useless mask chiding us unmasked swine, getting a useless ‘vaccine’, or poisoning the local blood supply with his ‘vaccine’-tainted blood, Clayton makes SURE to get a photo of it and post it so he can Signal his Virtue!

I wonder why hunger is on the rise? Bidenflation??

As usual, Clayton has exposed himself as a hypocrite, a liar and a fraud all at the same time. Perhaps you should stop doing this, Comrade?

#1 – Look at all those plastic bags! You evil sea-turtle choker, you! Where are your re-useable hemp bags, you nit wit? Don’t you know plastic bags are made with OIL?!? You have said REPEATEDLY you want us to be “fossil fuel free” – so what the hell are you doing poisoning the planet with plastic bags!!! You are either so stupid you don’t know where plastic bags come from or you are the biggest hypocrite in Texas.

#2 – Froot-Loops?? BAHAHAHA. Seriously? That is almost the worst shit on the planet for you, when it comes to “nutrition.” Weren’t you recently crying about the Big Cereal Corporations gouging everyone with their greedy price hikes? Yes. Yes you were.

Also – you have told us REPEATEDLY for years now that you are a farmer or rancher….

Why didn’t you bring them some squash or some healthy veggies off of your “farm?” Or maybe some meat from your “ranch?” The farmers’ market is LITERALLY 2 blocks from your mom’s house where you live. But instead of giving up some of your many crops from your “family farm,” you go to HEB and buy them sugary shit like Froot Loops? What an asshole, man.

#3 – You took some photo ops at Janet “Crazier” Crozier’s Community Garden two years ago at exactly the same time you were running for City council.

“Behind me are my Froot Loop raised beds. They grow on vines!”

SURELY you are still a member of the garden and growing healthy veggies for the poor. That wasn’t all just a photo op, was it? The community garden is LITERALLY a 3-block walk from your mom’s house where you live. Are you too lazy to go over there and grow veggies when the cameras aren’t around?

I’ll bet you a MILLLLLION DOLLARS that you, in fact, have NOT been back there and have NOT grown a single thing for yourself or “the poor” you are yammering about now.

What a fraud and a piece of shit you are.
