One of the most common questions in the comment sections of the local anti-data center retards is “why do we need all these data centers? “
Well, I went through the trouble of doing all the math on that. It is nearly impossible to believe the amount of data generated daily – and the U.S. is a HUGE portion of that.
Global data generation runs between 400 million and 500 million terabytes PER DAY. We’ll be charitable and say the U.S. is responsible for about 300 million of that.
All the stupid 8K YouTube videos of Clayton Tucker blabbering about data centers and using a wrench incorrectly, all the old lady cat videos, all the thousands of YouTube channels churning out garbage every day. It adds up.
A Western Digital SanDisk 200TB drive takes up about 1000 cubic inches or 0.6 cubic feet. You’ll need 1.5 MILLION of those every single day. Or about 550 million of those per year. Every year. Forever. Oh, and that will increase every year, compounding forever.

As an example, take a moron like Clayton Tucker. He has videos and photos plastered all over Facebook, Twitter, Threads, BlueSky, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, PLUS his web pages for all of his joke shell companies (like the Farm & Food PAC grifting site and his fake RX Ranch site).

Clayton ADMITTED that is only real hobby is watching politics and gaming on YouTube! He doesn’t even PLAY the games. He watches other people play games on YouTube. He admitted he spends HOURS and HOURS per day doing this. Idiots like CLAYTON are driving the massive demand for more data centers. You saw the math above.
Those 1,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools per day is just the beginning. You can’t just throw three million servers in a pit. You need room for the techs to walk around, the cooling, the building, etc. NOW maybe you can see why there is such a massive demand for these things. If every social media moron would delete their account or at least delete all the mountains of shit from 10 years ago that you never even look at, then MAYBE you’d make a dent in the demand. But whiney pussies like Clayton and their followers are not about sacrifice. They think that posting a few slogans on social media makes them heroes.
Data centers are getting built. They are too intertwined with every single aspect of our lives. Not to mention a LOT of blue collar guys are going to make huge bank on these. The electricians, plumbers, welders, concrete guys, etc. You’d think a dork who claims to be “for the working man” would agree but Clayton thinks he’s going to wave his wand and stop them all.
