In other words, humans overcame the problem. I guarantee you there are 10,000 nerds hard at work on this problem right now. The nerd who figures out a hardware or software solution that cuts power consumption in data centers is going to get very, very rich. THAT is the beauty of the free market: it harnesses humans’ innate self-interest into benefits for all mankind. The inventor gets rich and everyone else gets a better life.
