There are roughly 40,000 MW (40 GIGAWATTS) of wind power installed in Texas. As of this afternoon, a piddling 178 MW was being generated on this windless day.
In mathematical terms: 178/40,000 = fuck all.
178 megawatts! If you went back in time and took 26-yo Lampasshole and some of my drinking buddies back in 1996, gave us an 8-ball of quality blow, let us all pull a gorilla-finger sized rail and then put us on exercise bicycles, we could have generated more power than that!!
Absolutely ridiculous. November can’t come fast enough. Screw all these pinwheels. Nukes and nat gas are the only answer for a first-world, first-class republic like Texas.
