Welp, according to the Dispatch, the Hostess House will probably be done by the end of the year. Considering the original finish date was January of 2025, that means it’s only 11 months late.
Oh, and the original budget was $200,000 – so at the final total of $3.2 million, it technically cost the taxpayers $3,000,000 more than Finley told us it would cost….
I guess I could be charitable and tell you that last year, they told us it would be actually be $2.2 million (April of 2024) after all.
So it’s either $3,000,000.00 over budget or only a mere $1,000,000.00 over budget, depending on which bullshit, totally wrong City estimate you use.
Oh, and this is all so they can rent it out and make about $12,000 per year on it. LOL. If you had just taken the $3.2 million and stuck it in T-bills, you’d make about $130,000 per year in interest, which is over TEN TIMES what you will make from renting it out.
