As predicted, it sailed through. Now we wait to see if the second part of the prophecy comes true: many change orders before this is all over and ANOTHER $100k or so added on to the cost.
Ironically, it was Cathy “Even if it Costs More” Kuehne who read the motion to be voted on. It was met with a rather unenthusiastic 7-0 unanimous “aye” from City council.
This will likely be former YMCA director Finley deGraffenreid’s final big chance to blow obscene amounts of money before he rides off into the sunset to collect his fat pension. So I expect he’ll make it a real spectacle to behold!
The contract time will be 180 days from the notice to proceed. So we are likely looking at around Thanksgiving as a completion date. I’ll take the over on that, as well.
