Well, a LOT of good stuff coming up!
#1 – Waste Connections wants to “adjust” (this means “increase”) their prices to the City. Now, I understood this last time they jacked prices because diesel had skyrocketed to around $5.50 a gallon and it takes a LOT of fuel to run those trucks.
BUT, diesel has cratered down to around $3 thanks to the impending massive recession we are about to see. No way should City council allow them to jack rates higher.
You’ll recall that Talbert couldn’t be bothered to put this very contract out for bid the last time it was up. I wrote about it several times:
2017 Talbert Versus 2020 Talbert
Just another remnant of the disaster that was the Talbert Years.
#2 – City considering spending $26,400 per mile (total cost of $211,000!!) for a “frisbee golf” course out at 580 Sports Complex [see page 167]. I guess all that talk about it being “volunteer-built” was the usual nonsense! Oh, and the design and study part will be $12,000. Hmmmm. Twelve thousand. Where have I heard that number for design plans before?
Oh yeah…
City Blowing Over $12,000 To Study A “Mountain Bike Park”. No…Seriously.
#3 – City will be jacking your electric and water rates again. This time, thanks to increasing wholesale prices. Look for your bills to go up approximately 7% for electricity.
You can thank greentards like Clayton Tucker and the other windmill lovers for this expense. As I wrote last summer:
City Manager Admits Electricity Is More Expensive Thanks To “Green Energy” Idiocy
